California Road Trip
Michele and I set off Monday the 31st for a 5 day road trip. We spent the beginning of the trip in Eureka being well taken care of by Amanda, Chad, and the 4 dogs. Found some prizes at the antique shop and even better treasures from Amanda who makes beautiful jewelry.

On our way to San Francisco/Oakland (and after paying a visit to the drive through tree) the clutch went out on the Tacoma. Luckily Michele has AAA. So after a short wait and a creepy lingering passerby (who felt the need to tell us several times how much he likes girls with tattoo’s) we were dropped off in Leggett. The mechanic shop was closed so we started walking to scope out a camp spot. We waved down the first person that drove by so we could inquire about the hours or phone number of the mechanic shop. He told us there were some guys down at the pizza shop that would know and he was on his way there if we wanted a ride. We were thankful and he was super nice… but a little red faced drunk. I sat in the backseat next to the cooler full of beer and sloshing ice water. While we jammed to some Emeinem I spotted a cup filled with coins and dollars on his console with a taped on sign that said “baby money”. I’m still not sure what to make of that. Several pitchers of beer later someone was nice enough to let us crash at their moms house that they were watching while she was out of town. A pretty log house in the woods with our own bedroom and veggie burgers in the freezer!!
The next night we had a BBQ which turned into the entire town coming over to party. Michele played her first drinking game and consoled the 19 year old girl who just broke up with her boyfriend of 4 years… who was in his late twenties. Eww. The end of the night looked a little like this…
